Simone Biles responded to questions from journalists at the press conference she gave after the 2025 Laureus Gala. The American gymnast, who was named Sportswoman of the Year, was asked about her plans for the Los Angeles 2028 Olympic Games
“You know, right now I’m still focused on healing physically and mentally, because participating in the Olympics really takes a toll on your body, and I haven’t had that much time, because I’ve sacrificed so much, like spending time with my family, my friends, my husband and things like that, so I’m really enjoying this time off, before I decide if I want to go back to the gym and compete, because a lot of people think it’s a one-year commitment, but it’s actually the four years leading up to the Olympics,” she said.

“So, yes, it’s in Los Angeles, it’s in the United States again, which is very exciting, but I’m not so sure if I’m going to compete again, although I will be at the Olympic Games, either on the track or in the stands. It’s an important decision to make,” said Biles.
Her childhood photo and a reflection on gymnastics
Simone Biles was also asked about a photograph she has on her social media when she was little and if she would be a gymnast again if she were born again. “I’ve always believed that everything happens for a reason and my sister and I were adopted and taken to Texas, and that day we went on a field trip, and it ended up raining, so it was something very typical of Texas, I’m sorry guys, we were going to go to an oil ranch, but we ended up going to a daycare center, and that’s where my gymnastics career began. I’m not completely sure that if I were born again, the same steps would lead me to gymnastics, but I really hope so, because I love doing it, it has been an incredible experience, and to answer your question, yes,” she said.
