Während andere das schmerzhafte Aus in der Königsklasse erst noch verdauen musste, legte die Vereins-Legende schon den Schalter um!

Noch in der Kabine des San-Siro-Stadions versuchte Thomas Müller, die neue Zeitrechnung einzuläuten. Nur Minuten waren seit dem Schlusspfiff vergangen: Der FC Bayern hatte gegen Inter Mailand zwar ein 2:2 rausgeholt, das Hinspiel des Champions-League-Viertelfinals war aber 1:2 verloren gegangen.

Mit Josip Stanisic und Aleksandar Pavlovic schnappte sich die scheidende Klub-Legende nach seinem letzten Auftritt in der Champions League ganz bewusst zwei Youngster, die aus Bayern kommen und im Verein groß geworden sind.

Wie Müller selbst, der beim 2:2 gegen Inter sein 163. Spiel in der Königsklasse absolvierte, damit mit Lionel Messi (37) gleichzog. „Ihr müsst dranbleiben, es geht weiter. Ihr könnt hier noch viele Titel gewinnen. Jetzt kommt eure Zeit“, beschwor Müller die beiden Eigengewächse.

Es war eine Art Staffelstab-Übergabe. Für den FC Bayern war das Aus in der Champions League eine Zäsur: Mit Müller verabschiedet sich die größte Vereins-Ikone vom Klub.

Nicht nur auf seiner Position wird es einen Umbruch bei den Bayern geben müssen – doch damit hat Müller dann nichts mehr zu tun. Nach 25 Jahren beim deutschen Rekordmeister und der Klub-WM im Juni/Juli ist Schluss – aber hört er auch auf, Fußball zu spielen?

Der 35-Jährige hat Optionen, die Liste an Interessenten ist lang. Das naheliegendste Ziel könnte der Los Angeles FC, Partner-Klub der Bayern, sein. Doch auch die Premier League lockt, ebenso die Türkei – und auch zwei Vereine aus der Serie A.

Bei einem Klub wird es sogar ganz konkret: Nach SPORT BILD-Informationen führt die Spur nach Florenz. Der italienische Transfer-Insider Gianluca di Marzio enthüllte gegenüber dem Portal „Wettfreunde.de“, dass der Klub schon Kontakt zu Müllers Beratern (Kögl & Partner GmbH) hat.
