Ben Affleck opened up about love, relationships, and life after his split from Jennifer Lopez during a recent appearance on Morning Joe alongside his The Accountant 2 co-star Jon Bernthal.
While discussing their brotherly dynamic in the upcoming film, Affleck shared a pointed reflection.
“The people you love the most drive you the most crazy.,” he stated.
Though the comment referred to their characters, the underlying sentiment seemed to touch on Affleck’s own personal experiences-particularly his recent divorce from Lopez, finalized earlier this year.
Despite frequent paparazzi photos of him looking somber, Affleck made it clear that he’s content.
“I’m happy,” he said, brushing off assumptions that his public appearance reflects his mood.
Affleck still admires Lopez
Just a week earlier, Affleck publicly praised Lopez, calling her “spectacular” in an interview.
“She’s an enormously important, tremendous person of a lot of integrity who I adore and am grateful to,” he said, reaffirming their mutual respect post-divorce.
Their split came under increased scrutiny following the release of Lopez’s documentary, The Greatest Love Story Never Told. The film captured moments of strain between the couple, particularly as Lopez struggled with the demands of producing This Is Me… Now: A Love Story.
Affleck appeared stressed in scenes where he encouraged her to relax during production, while Lopez was visibly emotional over missing shared commitments.
Affleck, ever the devoted father, also shared that he brought Lopez’s twins, Max and Emme, to the film’s premiere alongside his three children with ex-wife Jennifer Garner-Violet, Seraphina, and Samuel.
“The relationships you can have with children like that, it’s the joy of my life,” he said.
Meanwhile, Lopez is busy filming Office Romance in New Jersey and preparing for her performance at the 2025 Saudi Arabian Grand Prix in Jeddah. The concert will mark her return to the Formula 1 stage for the first time since 2014.
Although the couple has parted ways, insiders say both stars are channeling their energy into work.
“They are sad the marriage didn’t work, but they’re pouring themselves into their careers,” a source told DailyMail.com.
