Neue Namen sollen für frischen Wind sorgen!
Für die beiden finalen Qualifikationsspiele zur Handball-EM 2026 in Dänemark, Schweden und Norwegen (15.1. – 1.2.) hat Bundestrainer Alfred Gíslason (65) neues Personal nominiert.
Nach SPORT BILD-Informationen wird der Deutsche Handballbund (DHB) für die Partien in Zürich gegen die Schweiz (19 Uhr, live bei Dyn/Anzeige und ARD Livestream) und in Stuttgart gegen die Türkei (18 Uhr, ARD Livestream) zwei weitere U21-Weltmeister von 2023 und einen U19-Europameister von 2021 in den 19er-Kader holen.

Nicht im Aufgebot stehen Jannik Kohlbacher und Sebastian Heymann (beide Rhein-Neckar Löwen), die nach Verletzungen weiterhin nicht topfit sind.
Auch Rune Dahmke, Lukas Zerbe (beide THW Kiel) sowie Lukas Mertens (SC Magdeburg), die mit ihren Klubs in Europa im Dauer-Einsatz sind, fehlen im Kader. Dafür kehrt Julian Köster (VfL Gummersbach) nach überstandener Verletzung (Operation nach Infektion im Knie) zurück.
[–>Premiere feiern die U21-Weltmeister Mathis Häseler (22/VfL Gummersbach) und Matthes Langhoff (23/Füchse Berlin). Alfred Gíslason hat bei der anstehenden DHB-Maßnahme damit sieben Profis im Kader, die 2023 in Berlin den WM-Titel gewannen.
Langhoff spielt im linken Rückraum und in der Abwehr beim Tabellenführer eine starke Saison, hat sich eine Nominierung mehr als verdient. Das gilt auch für Häseler, der mit Melsungen-Kapitän Timo Kastening das Rechtsaußen-Duo bilden wird.

Aus der 2. Bundesliga nominiert der DHB den 22-jährigen Aron Seesing vom Tabellenführer Bergischer HC. Die Kreis-Kante (95 Tore), U19-Europameister 2021, gehörte bereits zum erweiterten 35-Kader für die Olympischen Spiele 2024 und die WM 2025.
In der Quali zur Europameisterschaft führt Deutschland (7 Punkte) in der Vierer-Gruppe 7 vor der Schweiz (5), Österreich (4) und der Türkei (0). Ein Sieg reicht, um das EM-Ticket zu lösen.
