And, you know, the Texas legislature wasn’t going to allow high school ball players to get paid,” Ewers explained. “And I had a $1.4 million memorabilia deal in front of me that I wasn’t going to pass up.”

Ewers’ time at Ohio State was brief, as he transferred to Texas after one season. However, his return to the Lone Star State marked the beginning of a record-breaking tenure with the Longhorns. Over three seasons, Ewers set the program’s record for single-season 300+ yard passing games (6) and climbed to third on the all-time list in passing yards and touchdowns.
Despite his impressive college career, Ewers’ draft stock has fluctuated. Once projected as a first-round pick, he is now expected to be selected in the third round. Analysts have cited concerns about his injury history and inconsistent performances, but his talent and potential remain undeniable.
