The ongoing legal showdown between Blake Lively and Justin Baldoni has taken an unexpected turn, pulling A-list names into the spotlight.
According to recent reports, Taylor Swift and Hugh Jackman are expected to be subpoenaed as witnesses in the intensifying legal battle involving Lively and her husband, Ryan Reynolds.
The conflict began in December when Lively filed a lawsuit accusing Baldoni, her It Ends With Us co-star and director, of sexual harassment and orchestrating a campaign to damage her reputation. In response, Baldoni countersued the couple for a staggering $400 million, citing defamation and civil extortion among other claims. The trial is scheduled for March 2026.
Swift, a long-time friend of Lively and Reynolds-and godmother to their three children-has reportedly been named in Baldoni’s legal documents. In one excerpt, Lively allegedly described Swift and Reynolds as her “dragons,” a Game of Thrones-style reference meant to suggest their fierce loyalty and protection.
Baldoni also claimed that Swift was present during a key script discussion at Lively’s New York penthouse and implied she may have been used to intimidate him.
Celebrity witnesses could shift the case’s trajectory
Adding fuel to the fire, Hugh Jackman’s name has also surfaced. Close to Reynolds through their work on Deadpool & Wolverine, Jackman’s alleged knowledge of a character spoof called “Nicepool”-which bears a striking resemblance to Baldoni-could prove significant.
The character’s floral scene with Lively’s on-screen persona is seen as a pointed jab, referencing her role in It Ends With Us.
Neither Swift nor Jackman has commented publicly, though sources suggest Swift has been bracing for a subpoena. Lively is said to have apologized privately to Swift for any fallout, emphasizing that there was never an intent to drag her into the conflict.
As the courtroom drama deepens, the involvement of major celebrities could significantly influence public perception-and possibly the outcome-of what is shaping up to be one of Hollywood’s most explosive legal sagas.
