Gemeinsam mit Zsolt Löw (45) soll er RB Leipzig als Interimstrainer in die Champions League führen. Über viele Jahre war Peter Krawietz (53) Co-Trainer von Jürgen Klopp (57), gilt als sein größter Vertrauter. Im Interview mit SPORT BILD verrät Krawietz nun aber, wie holprig der Beginn ihrer Erfolgsgeschichte war.
[–>Krawietz lernte Klopp als Spieler kennen. Er erzählt: „Ich war ein 24-jähriger Sportstudent an der Uni und im Trainerstab bei Mainz 05. Bei der Videoanalyse habe ich Jürgen, dem Rechtsverteidiger, erzählt, dass er sich doch bitte aktiv anbieten soll, weil mein Auftrag war, dass wir unser Aufbauspiel verbessern. Das Ganze missfiel dem besagten Rechtsverteidiger aber sehr, und die Gespräche endeten durchaus lautstark.“
Später feierte das Duo viele Titel in Dortmund und Liverpool. „Wir waren dann sehr schnell auf einer Wellenlänge. Uns verbindet die Lust aufs Gewinnen. Ein natürlicher Ehrgeiz, Bock auf Fußball“, sagt Krawietz. „Und für uns gab es immer vier, fünf Eckpfeiler, an denen wir auch in Krisen nie gerüttelt oder gezweifelt haben. Da geht es um die Spielweise, Mannschaftsführung, wie man mit einer Gruppe umgeht und wie man Menschen stark macht.“
Historische Leistung: Klopp-Kumpel sorgt für Fan-Ekstase
Krawietz nennt ein Beispiel für die gemeinsamen Trainer-Prinzipien. „Auf dem Feld gibt es immer nur das Team. Die Qualität einer Mannschaft ist nicht das Zusammenzählen der Einzelqualitäten, sondern das Ineinandergreifen der Rädchen. Alle Probleme, die es im Fußball gibt, können nur auf dem Feld gelöst werden und auf dem Trainingsplatz, und im Stadion werden die wahren Entscheidungen getroffen“, sagt der Co-Trainer, der zu Jahresbeginn ebenfalls in die Fußball-Abteilung von Red Bull wechselte.
