Zachová vstupovala do evropského šampionátu jako osmá nasazená judistka a vyhrála všechny čtyři dosavadní zápasy. Na úvod vyřadila dvojnásobnou medailistku z ME Gili Šarirovou z Izraele, pak si poradila s vítězkou posledních dvou šampionátů do 23 let Španělkou Laurou Vazquezovou.
Ve čtvrtfinále zvládla i reprízu loňského finále. Zachová si znovu vyšlápla na úřadující mistryni světa Joanne van Lieshoutovou z Nizozemska, která byla na šampionátu nasazenou jedničkou. V semifinále Zachová udolala v prodloužení Italku Carlottu Avanzatovou.
Na ME se dnes představil také další český reprezentant Chusniddin Karimov a vypadl ve 2. kole kategorie do 73 kilogramů s favorizovaným Gruzíncem Lašou Šavdatuašvilim.
