Shannon Sharpe, the Pro Football Hall of Famer and ESPN analyst, is grappling with serious allegations as a second sexual assault lawsuit has surfaced, this time from a different accuser. According to a report by TotalProSports on April 24, Michele Evans, who claims a decade-long relationship with Sharpe, filed a lawsuit in New York in 2023, alleging he sexually assaulted her during an argument in 2010.
This follows a high-profile $50 million Nevada lawsuit filed on April 20 by a woman identified as Jane Doe, accusing Sharpe of rape and battery. The new report has sent shockwaves through the sports world, with fans on X debating the claims.

Evans’ suit, referenced in Jane Doe’s Nevada filing, accuses Sharpe of intentional infliction of emotional distress and defamation alongside the assault claim. “It’s said to include allegations of sexual assault during an argument,” TotalProSports noted, tying it to a 2010 incident. Sharpe, 56, has denied all allegations in both cases, calling the Nevada suit a “shakedown” in an Instagram video.
“I’m going to be open, transparent and defend myself,” he said, vowing to sue Jane Doe and her attorney, Tony Buzbee, for defamation. His lawyer, Lanny Davis, echoed this, stating, “This is a blatant and cynical attempt to shake down Mr. Sharpe for millions.”
New lawsuit alleges Sharpe’s 2010 assault
The Nevada lawsuit alleges Sharpe raped Jane Doe twice in October 2024 and again in January 2025, after a “rocky consensual relationship” that began in 2023 when she was 19. Buzbee, known for representing accusers against Deshaun Watson and Sean “Diddy” Combs, released a 30-second audio clip where Sharpe allegedly threatens to “choke” the plaintiff.
Sharpe’s team insists the clip is edited, demanding the full 10-minute version be released. “The evidence paints a clear picture: this was a consensual adult relationship,” Davis said, citing explicit texts from the accuser.
Sharpe’s legal battles come amid a blockbuster career. His podcast Club Shay Shay soared with a 2024 Katt Williams interview, and he’s eyeing a $100 million media deal. The Evans lawsuit gained attention after Sharpe mentioned a “Michele” in a September 2024 Instagram Live mishap, which sparked tensions with Jane Doe.
“Sharpe made mention of a ‘Michele’ in his infamous leaked sex tape,” TotalProSports reported, linking the cases. With no criminal charges filed, the court of public opinion is heating up as both lawsuits unfold.
