Apesar de não ter sido anunciado oficialmente, Dorival Júnior já está acertado com o Corinthians para comandar o time na sequência desta temporada. O comandante, que estava sem trabalho desde sua saída da seleção brasileira, era desejo antigo dos dirigentes do clube
Quando for oficializado como comandante corintiano, o treinador terá alcançado uma marca que outros oito treinadores conseguiram durante suas respectivas carreiras: treinar as quatro grandes equipes do estado de São Paulo, segundo os dados do Uol Esporte.
Nomes históricos
Dentre os nomes, estão alguns dos mais celebrados treinadores do futebol nacional. Um deles Osvaldo Brandão, representativo na história corintiana, tendo sido o treinador campeão do Paulistão do Quarto Centenário (1954) e pela quebra do jejum de títulos do Timão, em 1977, além de ser um dos maiores técnicos da história do Palmeiras.
Outros nomes ‘clássicos’, também figuram Aymoré Moreira (campeão mundial com a seleção brasileira em 1962), Rubens Minelli, Carlos Alberto Silva, Nelsinho Baptista e Emerson Leão. Dentre os eras ‘mais modernas’, aparecem como também tendo treinado Palmeiras, Corinthians, SPFC e Santos, Cuca e Oswaldo de Oliveira
Dorival nos quatro grandes
Dorival Júnior teve sua primeira experiência entre os quatro grandes de SP treinando o Palmeiras em 2014, sendo o responsável por evitar o rebaixamento do time para a Série B do Brasileirão naquele ano. No Santos, comandou o Peixe em duas passagens, a primeira entre 2009 e 2010, sendo campeão paulista e da Copa do Brasil (ambos em 2010) e a segunda entre 2015 e 2017, conquistando novamente o Paulistão em 2016.
No São Paulo, teve também duas passagens, estas em 2017 e 2018 e a outra, a mais vitoriosa delas, entre 2023 e 2024, conquistando no primeiro ano desta a Copa do Brasil e saindo para comandar a Seleção. E, agora, completa o ‘ciclo’ ao acertar sua ida para o Corinthians tentar repetir os feitos em outros cluves
