Hier spielte schon ein deutscher Weltmeister: DIESER Klub will Müller!

Jays have faith Bowden Francis can rebound vs. Phillies

May 27, 2025; Arlington, Texas, USA; Toronto Blue Jays starting pitcher Bowden Francis (44) throws during the first inning against the Texas Rangers at Globe Life Field. Mandatory Credit: Kevin Jairaj-Imagn Images It's been almost two months since Toronto starter Bowden Francis picked up a victory, but Blue Jays manager John Schneider says he still has trust in the 6-foot-5, 220-pound right-hander heading into Saturday afternoon's road start against the Philadelphia Phillies. Francis (2-8, 6.12 ERA) has dropped six straight decisions since a 3-1 home win over the Seattle Mariners on April 18 and has allowed 19 home runs (second in the American League) in 60 1/3 innings. But Schneider points to an 8-5 record and 3.30 ERA in 2024 for sticking with Francis in the rotation. "We trust him," Schneider told MLB.com after Francis allowed four runs on five […]

Tigers’ Jack Flaherty looks for another strong outing vs. Reds

Jun 2, 2025; Chicago, Illinois, USA; Detroit Tigers starting pitcher Jack Flaherty (9) delivers a pitch against the Chicago White Sox during the first inning at Rate Field. Mandatory Credit: Kamil Krzaczynski-Imagn Images Following a slow beginning, Jack Flaherty has regained the form that made the Detroit Tigers want to re-sign him in free agency. The right-hander will face a familiar foe when he starts the middle game of a three-game home series against the Cincinnati Reds on Saturday afternoon. Flaherty has made four consecutive quality starts and earned three straight victories heading into his 14th outing of the season. After his second May start, Flaherty was 1-5 with a 4.61 ERA. He is now 5-6 with a 3.41 ERA. Flaherty went 7-5 with a 2.95 ERA in 18 starts with the Tigers last season before he was dealt at […]

Thunder vs. Pacers: How OKC’s collective team effort gave Shai Gilgeous-Alexander the juice to close out Game 4

INDIANAPOLIS — Shai Gilgeous-Alexander told anyone who would listen earlier in these 2025 NBA Finals: Yes, he’s the one with the Most Valuable Player trophy and the matinee idol billing, but the Thunder are far from a solo act.“No one-man show achieves what I'm trying to achieve with this game … those guys are the reason why we're as good of a team as we are,” he said following Oklahoma City’s series-leveling Game 2 win. “I just add to it.”AdvertisementAdvertisementAdvertisementGilgeous-Alexander added plenty on Friday: a game-high 35 points, headlined by an all-time-clutch, postseason-career-high 15-point fourth quarter, to propel the Thunder past the Pacers to a series-evening — and possibly season-saving — 111-104 win at Gainbridge Fieldhouse. But surviving a physical, nasty, fever-pitched Game 4 to send this best-of-seven series back to Oklahoma City all knotted up at two games apiece took […]

Cubs out to boost run production vs. improving Pirates

Jun 12, 2025; Chicago, Illinois, USA; Chicago Cubs center fielder Pete Crow-Armstrong (4) hits a two-run home run against the Pittsburgh Pirates during the fourth inning at Wrigley Field. Mandatory Credit: Kamil Krzaczynski-Imagn Images There has been a common theme in the Chicago Cubs' recent losses: an inability to produce with runners on base. It's something the Cubs will look to rectify on Saturday when they host the Pittsburgh Pirates in the third matchup of a four-game set. The Cubs stranded nine runners and went 0-for-10 with runners in scoring position in a 2-1, 10-inning loss on Friday. In a 7-2 defeat to the Philadelphia Phillies on Wednesday, they left seven on base and were 1-for-7 with a chance to score. The loss before that (4-3 in 11 innings against Philadelphia on Monday) saw Chicago leave eight on base while […]
