Simone Biles and Jonathan Owens will be celebrating their love once again when they head to the Met Gala fashion event in New York City on Monday, May 5, and the Olympic gold medallist is hyped for her outfit.
Famed for its red carpet, the Met Gala is one of the most prestigious nights in the world of fashion and sees stars jet in from all around the world to head to the Metropolitan Museum of Art in Manhattan.
It’s a pricey affair, with each seat costing around $75,000, although proceeds go directly to the Costume Institute so it’s all for a good cause. Nonetheless, celebrities are keen to make their outfits stand out before the flashing lights of the photographers.
The night is also known for its themes, challenging attendees to design their costumes with a particular concept in mind. For 2025, this is Tailoring Black Style, with guests invited to bring their own flare, aligned with the theme.
Biles is hyped for the event too, alongside her husband, as she joins countless stars from countless industries such as professional sports, music, television, and films for the night that raised $26m in 2024.
“Oh my gosh, I am really excited,” Biles told ExtraTV on April 25. “Obviously no training goes into the Met, so I’m happy about that.
“It’s really just getting in fitting, seeing what you’re going to wear, and then going from there.
“It will be tailored, it will be a custom dress, I’m going back and forth between two right now, um both custom looks for me, so I’m excited.
“It is date night it’ll be the day before our wedding, second wedding anniversary as well, so it’ll be really exciting to celebrate at the Met with him.”

Fans won’t have to wait for photos to filter onto social media to track all of the action at the 2025 Met Gala, with the event on TV.
Coverage begins from 18:00 ET/15:00 PT live on E!. The site will also prove a livestream online as well as social media updates.
