The NFL continues to put up impressive viewership numbers around the draft. An average of 13.6 million viewers tuned in to the first round of the 2025 NFL Draft across TV and digital, according to the NFL. That viewership total makes it the second-most watched Day 1 ever, second only to the 2020 first round, which averaged 15.5 million viewers and took place during the COVID-19 pandemic.

This draft marked the first time since the league expanded to 32 teams that every team entered the first round with their own pick.
The 2025 draft is being held in Green Bay, the NFL’s smallest city. Day 1 attracted a crowd of 205,000, nearly double the city’s population, who watched the Tennessee Titans make former Miami quarterback Cam Ward the No. 1 pick.

The opening round also featured a blockbuster trade, when the Jaguars moved up from No. 5 to select Heisman Trophy winner Travis Hunter with the second pick.
Colorado quarterback Shedeur Sanders, Hunter’s college teammate, was notably not selected in the first round despite being rated as one of the top prospects in this year’s class.
Rounds 2 and 3 of the draft took place Friday, and Rounds 4 through 7 begin at noon ET on Saturday.
