The Miami Dolphins selected Quinn Ewers in the seventh round of the NFL Draft, leaving the starting quarterback position for the Texas Longhorns vacant for the 2025 season. However, even though the program’s Head Coach, Steve Sarkisian, has not confirmed it, we all know that Arch Manning will be leading the offense.
What people are really wondering is whether Arch Manning will declare for the 2026 NFL Draft. Right now, according to DraftKings Sportsbook, the quarterback from the Texas Longhorns – who has only had two starts in two years with the team – is the heavy favorite to be the number one overall pick next year.

Peyton and Eli had successful NFL careers, each retiring with two Super Bowl rings. Peyton won his with the Indianapolis Colts and the Denver Broncos, while Eli won both with the New York Giants.
The situation with Arch and his uncles to watch closely is that both Peyton and Eli had long college careers before entering the NFL. Peyton played four years at the University of Tennessee before being selected first overall in 1998 by the Colts, while Eli spent five years at Ole Miss before being chosen first overall in 2004 by the Chargers, although he forced a trade to the Giants.
That’s why there’s a belief that Arch Manning’s college career could extend beyond 2025. Additionally, Arch might follow the advice of his grandfather, Archie Manning, who has stated that staying longer in college is very important. He once advised Cam Ward that remaining in school for another year was a wise decision – a decision that ultimately helped Ward become the first overall pick.
In the end, it’s clear that Arch Manning will be under a lot of pressure in 2026, and everything will depend on how he performs during the season, especially in key games, like his debut against the reigning champions, Ohio State.
