Das war ein Aufstieg mit der Vorspultaste!
Seit Samstagabend steht der erste Aufsteiger in die Daikin Handball-Bundesliga fest. Der Bergische HC schlug die Eulen Ludwigshafen 32:27 (18:11) und holte damit die nötigen zwei Punkte, die zur rechnerischen Rückkehr ins Oberhaus noch gebraucht wurden.

Erster Handball-Aufsteiger steht fest
Die Vorarbeit zur Wuppertaler Aufstiegsparty leistete jedoch Abstiegs-Kandidat TuS N-Lübbecke. Die Ostwestfalen besiegten am Freitagabend den Tabellendritten TV Hüttenberg 31:30. Damit war klar, dass der BHC mit einem Sieg am Samstag alles erledigen konnte.
BHC-Trainer Markus Pütz: „Als sich am Freitagabend das Fenster auftat, dass wir zu Hause den Aufstieg schaffen können, war das schon eine tolle Sache. Weil wir viel an unsere Fans zurückgeben wollen, die uns super unterstützt haben in diesem Jahr. Am Ende gewinnen wir mit fünf Toren – ein Ergebnis, das den Spielverlauf widerspiegelt.“
Fabian Gutbrod, Sportchef des Bergischen HC, holte zu einer umfangreichen Jubel-Arie aus: „Erst mal ein Riesenkompliment an die Mannschaft, weil sie es über weite Strecken der Saison geschafft hat, sich so darzustellen, wie wir uns das wünschen und sie sich das vorgenommen hat.“
[–>Der zweite Dank galt dem Trainer-Duo Arnor Gunnarsson und Pütz: „Sie haben es geschafft, diesen Geist zu entfachen und aufrechtzuerhalten. Wenn man die Spiele als BHC-Fan gesehen hat, dann war einfach ganz viel von dem dabei, was man sehen möchte. Die logische Konsequenz daraus war der sportliche Erfolg.
Als letztes Lob für die Klub-Bosse: „Als Drittes möchte ich ein großes Dankeschön an die Geschäftsführung des Bergischen HC richten. Jörg Föste, Philipp Tychy und Anja Föste sind da zu nennen. Sie haben sehr viel geleistet, damit wir unseren Job machen konnten.“
Die Kür hat der BHC eindrucksvoll beendet, er steht ab sofort aber auch noch fünf Mal in der Pflicht, die Aufstiegs-Saison seriös zu Ende zu spielen. Alle der letzten Gegner (HSG Nordhorn, TuS Ferndorf, VfL Lübeck, Eintracht Hagen und Dessau-Rosslauer HV) sind im völlig verrückten Abstiegskampf der 2. Liga verstrickt.
