Belegt auch der einen der ersten vier Plätze, wird ein sechster Startplatz für die Bundesliga in der European League heiß. Ein Szenario sorgt jedoch dafür, dass Platz 5 sogar traurig machen könnte.

Gewinnt einer der deutschen Klubs das Final4 um die European League (24./25. Mai in Hamburg), ist die Wahrscheinlichkeit hoch, dass die Europäische Handballföderation (EHF) eine Wildcard für die HBL spendiert. Dann wäre auch Platz 5 wieder heißer.
