Deion Sanders has never been one to shy away from controversy, and he’s certainly not starting now. As the Sanders family processed a bittersweet 2025 NFL Draft weekend – where Shedeur Sanders unexpectedly fell to the fifth round – Coach Prime made it clear he has no regrets about where he stands politically.
Years ago, Sanders aligned himself with Republican donors David and Charles Koch to launch an anti-poverty initiative, a move that sparked plenty of criticism. Still, Sanders remains proud of that decision. “I think I chose correctly,” he said, emphasizing shared values and a mutual desire to inspire and create opportunities for others.

While many expected Shedeur Sanders to be a first-round pick, the talented quarterback waited far longer than anticipated before hearing his name called. Ultimately, the Cleveland Browns selected him in Round 5, a surprising outcome given his college resume and bloodline.
Rather than dwelling on the disappointment, Shedeur expressed gratitude for the opportunity. “I don’t ever focus on the negative,” he said. “I’m thankful for people getting to know the real me.” Now, his focus shifts to earning respect in Cleveland and proving that draft position does not define a career.
