Dem deutschen Verteidiger von Real Madrid droht eine lange Sperre. Sehr gut möglich, dass er für den Rest der Saison gesperrt wird. Fünf Spiele sind in der spanischen La Liga noch zu absolvieren.
Rüdiger hatte im Pokalfinale einen Gegenstand in Richtung des Schiedsrichters geworfen, musste von mehreren Teamkollegen zurückgehalten werden, um nicht zum Referee zu stürmen.

Lothar Matthäus (63), der die Partie live verfolgte, war bei diesen Szenen erschrocken. Bei „Sky90“ sagte er: „Er war von Sinnen. Er war nicht mehr unter Kontrolle, und die Mitspieler mussten ihn besänftigen, sie mussten ihn wirklich mit Kraft festhalten. Die haben ihn wie einen Ringer umklammert, damit er nicht auf den Platz läuft und haben Schlimmeres verhindert.“
Der Rekordnationalspieler weiter: „Das war ein richtiger Ausraster, und ich glaube, wenn die drei, vier Spieler und Betreuer nicht gewesen wären, wäre der noch auf den Schiedsrichter losgegangen. Und er hat ja so ein bisschen Bewährung gehabt. Es war ja vor einigen Wochen noch das Spiel gegen Atlético Madrid, wo er auch so eine Geste gemacht hat, Kopf ab, sozusagen, zu den Fans, nach dem Spiel. Im Derby ist natürlich immer emotional, aber seiner Vorbildfunktion ist er gegen Madrid nicht nachgekommen, gestern hat es ja nicht nur fünf Sekunden gedauert, es hat sich über eine, eineinhalb Minuten durchgezogen.“

Er hat sich heute natürlich entschuldigt, es tut ihm wahrscheinlich leid, aber das ist ein bisschen spät gekommen, und ich gehe davon aus, dass es eine XXL-Sperre geben wird.“
