Of all the people who have experienced unusual situations during this blackout, Sofia Vergara cannot take the prize for the most critical. The Colombian actress attended the Platino Awards gala a day earlier and the blackout caught her in the Spanish capital. She was held for eight hours, although she was able to enjoy one of the most important luxury hotels in the country.
She shared her experience on her personal Instagram account, where far from complaining, she showed how lucky she was for the situation she had to live through. “The weirdest day in Madrid, eight and a half hours of a blackout trapped on a terrace but with my favorite people. Sadly we had to cancel the beautiful Toty Europe event we had prepared for all the press and influencers,” she wrote in a carousel of images.

“I’ll be back soon. I’m happy to have spent time with the Toty Europa team of beautiful girls,” she concluded in her post. In the snapshots, she can be seen enjoying various dishes of ham, glasses of wine, pasta and the best views of the Spanish capital. Perhaps, in this way, panic is less likely to set in when a nationwide blackout occurs.
The singer even took advantage of the situation to promote the brand that brought her to Madrid with a post about her ‘lockdown’ during the blackout. “8 hours in the sun in Madrid but completely protected because I had my Toty Europa in my purse and calm because of how amazing they took care of us,” she insisted in another post published on Meta’s social network.
Although some have not looked kindly on this attitude: “Spain without light and you thinking about uploading photos to Instagram. Ole you, flower!”, the vast majority have praised the tone with which the actress has taken it: “The blackout has been great in Madrid. It has served to leave the phones parked, go out in the sun and socialize. And you are the Queen of Madrid”
