Chiefs knocked their offseason out of the park as GM Brett Veach earns more praise from NFL analysts

Heading into this offseason, all eyes were on a couple of AFC teams who needed to improve their roster in order to maintain their powerhouse level. The Buffalo Bills and Baltimore Ravens needed to make additional moves in order to finally get over the hump that is the Kansas City Chiefs. Ironically, the Chiefs had plenty of question marks as well.

A crushing Super Bowl loss to the Philadelphia Eagles amplified the team’s weaknesses, particularly on the offensive line and at wide receiver. While those two positions were considered the biggest needs heading into free agency, there was more work to do than just adding players. The Chiefs had trusty general manager Brett Veach to guide them through the process. Along with the rest of the front office, Veach and co. have earned incredible praise for the work they’ve done.

Kansas City Chiefs offseason plan gets high grade

NFL senior writer Frank Schwab of Yahoo! Sports recently came out with an NFL Power Rankings list of the best offseasons among all teams. The Chiefs came in at No. 4, signifying a great offseason for the AFC powerhouse. Schwab had this to say about it.

The Chiefs get a good grade for keeping some key players. Retaining guard Trey Smith, linebacker Nick Bolton, receiver Hollywood Brown and edge Charles Omenihu was a win. And adding to the offensive line with first-rounder Josh Simmons and signee Jaylon Moore was huge too.

Schwab gave the Chiefs a B+ grade for their offseason. The moves outlined were all important, but there were even more that Veach pulled off in order to get Kansas City in the best position possible to succeed once again.

Veach’s draft plan garnered high praise as well. The GM scooped up values and only got aggressive when it truly called for it. Given how important it was for the Chiefs to nail this offseason, they can head into the summer with confidence that they did everything they needed to do.

Bucks offseason outlook: What does Giannis Antetokounmpo’s future hold?

The Bucks find themselves in the worst possible situation they've ever been in during Giannis Antetokounmpo's prime. Its cap situation — the 2025-26 salary cap is projected to be $154.6 million — while not quite a sea of flames yet, is extremely discouraging, and key members like Brook Lopez and Gary Trent Jr. can leave the franchise this summer.
