The New York Giants made a splash in the recent NFL Draft in Green Bay. In the first round with the No. 3 pick, they selected Penn State’s standout defender Abdul Carter, and later in the same round, they made a trade with the Houston Texans to get pick 25, using it to draft the quarterback they hope is their future: Jaxson Dart from Ole Miss.

Earlier in the year, the Giants were favorites to draft Shedeur Sanders, but according to reports, head coach Brian Daboll was not pleased with Sanders after their interviews, and instead, fell in love with Dart. In his first year, Dart will be learning behind Russell Wilson, but in a couple of years, he could become the face of the Giants franchise.
Jaxson Dart expected to build great chemistry with Giants star Malik Nabers
Giants fans are thrilled by the idea of Jaxson Dart throwing touchdown passes to Malik Nabers, although that won’t happen just yet. Brian Daboll confirmed that Wilson will be the starter, but that day will come-perhaps even at some point during this season. In an NFL season, anything can happen: injuries, slumps, and more.
Current Ole Miss head coach Lane Kiffin has coached Dart and also had the chance to watch Nabers closely when they faced LSU. He spoke with the New York Post about the chemistry he expects between the two players.
“I think he’ll work very hard with him from day one, and he’ll fly to wherever he is during the offseason to train together, fine-tune their throws, timing, and everything else. They’ll be an incredible pair for many years,” said Lane Kiffin.
After all this-especially following the disappointment of Daniel Jones, a first-round pick in 2019-Giants fans have renewed hope. Dart also comes from Ole Miss, the same school where Giants legend Eli Manning played and made history. Dart broke several of Manning’s records at Ole Miss, and now, fans are hoping he can surpass Eli’s two Super Bowl titles with the franchise.
