Carlo Ancelotti (65), der mit den Königlichen allein die Champions League dreimal gewonnen hat, muss trotz des Vertrages bis 2026 in diesem Sommer gehen. Die Nachfolge soll Leverkusens Meister-Macher Xabi Alonso (43) antreten. Der ehemalige Mittelfeld-Stratege von Real soll zurückkehren.

Dass sich Pérez schon vor dem Pokalfinale auf einen Trainerwechsel festgelegt hat, liegt vor allem daran, dass der Vorzeigeklub bis dahin wettbewerbsübergreifend elf Niederlagen in dieser Saison kassiert hat – was der Präsident als unwürdig für Real empfindet. Das Aus im Viertelfinale der Champions League gegen den FC Arsenal mit dem 0:3 in London und dem 1:2 im Bernabéu hat den Plan vom Neuanfang besiegelt. Weil Real in der Liga bei vier Punkten Rückstand auf Barça und einem direkten Duell am 11. Mai noch Titelchancen besitzt, wurde das Ancelotti-Aus bisher nicht offiziell verkündet.
Im Hintergrund wird längst am neuen Real geschraubt. Mit Alonso als Trainer, zu dem Pérez genauso wie zu dessen Berater Iñaki Ibáñez persönlich Kontakt hält, an der Spitze. Sagt er zu, hat er auf Transfers mindestens genauso viel Einfluss wie in Leverkusen. Die Königlichen verzichten auf einen Sportchef. Mit Santiago Solari (48) gibt es zwar einen Direktor Profifußball. Der Argentinier ist verantwortlich für alle Leistungs-Mannschaften des Klubs, aber nicht für die Top-Transfers. Die macht Pérez bei Weltstars wie Kylian Mbappé (26) im vergangenen Jahr so gut wie allein. Den Umbau der Mannschaft betreibt er mit seinem Trainer.
[–>Alonso kann dabei Wünsche und Bedenken einbringen, hat Einfluss auf die Verteilung des Budgets. Sieht er seinen Leverkusen-Star Florian Wirtz (21) als Taktgeber der Königlichen, steigen die Chancen auf einen 150-Millionen-Euro-Deal mit Real noch einmal.
Klar ist: Der zentrale Mittelfeldspieler ist die wichtigste Personalie beim Umbau. Toni Kroos (35) wurde nach dem Karriereende 2024 nicht ersetzt. Der Stratege fehlt, wie die vielen Niederlagen zeigen. Wahrscheinlich ist, dass Luka Modric (39) aufhört. Selbst, wenn er ein weiteres Jahr dranhängen sollte, hat er nicht mehr den nötigen Einfluss auf das Spiel. Ein Kandidat neben Wirtz für das Mittelfeld ist der etwas defensivere Tijjani Reijnders (26) von der AC Mailand.

Sicher kommt Außenverteidiger Trent Alexander-Arnold (26) vom FC Liverpool. Er ist ablösefrei. Gesucht wird zudem ein Innenverteidiger. Die Wunschlösung wäre William Saliba (24) von Arsenal. Der kostet jedoch rund 100 Mio. Euro. Um Geld für Mittelfeldstars zu sparen, könnte Alonso womöglich Jonathan Tah (29) ablösefrei von Bayer mitbringen. Das würde gut ankommen bei Real: Der Abwehrchef der deutschen Nationalelf ist der Wunschspieler vom FC Barcelona. Der Rivale kann aber wegen finanzieller Schwierigkeiten derzeit eine Registrierung als Profi nicht garantieren.
Zwei Eigengewächse soll der neue Trainer zu Stars formen: Verteidiger Víctor Valdepeñas (18) und Stürmer Gonzalo García (21). Alonso müsste im Sommer entscheiden, ob sie bereit sind für den Kader der Königlichen – oder eine Leihe besser für die Entwicklung wäre.
