„Jsem zpátky v tělocvičně a náhodou jsem narazil na někoho, koho možná znáte. Jsem zpět a vy víte, co se blíží,“ povídal šestatřicetiletý Fury směrem do kamery. Ozval se přitom také jeho americký trenér SugarHill Steward. „Víte, co to znamená,“ prohlásil.
Logicky tím vzrostly spekulace, zda jeden z nejslavnějších boxerů všech dob znovu opráší rukavice a ani ne po půlroce se vrátí ze sportovního důchodu. Nebylo by to přitom poprvé, co Fury ohlásil comeback krátce po uzavření profesionální kariéry. Učinil tak například už v roce 2022 poté, co porazil Dilliana Whytea. Mezi šestnáct provazů se vrátil o půl roku později, když si to rozdal s Derekem Chisorou.
Dokonce i Oleksandr Usyk, Furyho dvojnásobný přemožitel, na začátku roku tvrdil, že britský sok do žádného důchodu neodešel. „Hodně se o tom mluví, ale žádný důchod to neznamená. Bude pokračovat v tréninku a v boxu, protože je to skvělý člověk,“ povídal neporažený ukrajinský mistr světa v těžké váze.
Aby toho nebylo málo, vyslal více než dvoumetrový čahoun krátký vzkaz také směrem k Usykovi. „Dvakrát jsem toho zm*da porazil (Fury dvakrát prohrál na body, ale s verdikty rozhodčích nesouhlasil) a teď se svět dozví pravdu. Kdykoli a kdekoli,“ pokračoval na sociální platformě X. „Příště to bude ve Velké Británii,“ vypálil do světa Fury. Předchozí dva souboje se shodně konaly v Saúdské Arábii, kde si oba boxeři přišli na pohádkové peníze šplhající v přepočtu k několika miliardám korun.
Furyho video spatřilo světlo světa ve stejný den, kdy byla oficiálně oznámena odveta mezi Usykem a Britem Danielem Duboisem. K tomuto souboji dojde 19. července na stadionu londýnského Wembley a vítěz se stane absolutním šampionem těžké váhy. Zatímco Usyk drží světové tituly federací WBC, WBA a WBO, jeho sok naopak hájí zbývající pás IBF. „Nastal můj čas a jsem připraven zvítězit,“ prohlásil sedmadvacetiletý Dubois, který v prvním souboji prohrál v devátém kole na knokaut.

Pokud má k trilogii mezi Furym a Usykem dojít, budou si muset oba borci pospíšit. Druhý jmenovaný nejprve musí zvládnout červencovou bitvu, která pro něj zároveň bude znamenat jeden z posledních duelů kariéry. „Chci poslední dva zápasy a pak skončím. Pro poslední zápas mám dvě možnosti. Jednou je Anthony Joshua, druhou Tyson Fury,“ nasměroval osmatřicetiletý rodák z ukrajinského Simferopolu pozornost na britskou dvojici.
