Die Party bei den Berlinern geht immer weiter!
Nachdem fulminanten Einzug der Füchse Berlin in das Final4 der Champions League fegt die Mannschaft von Trainer Jaron Siewert (31) auch den Tabellenvorletzten SG BBM Bietigheim mit 42:30 (22:18) weg.
Vor den Augen von Klub-Ikone und Bietigheim-Coach Iker Romero (44) machen die Füchse damit den nächsten Schritt in Richtung erste Meisterschaft der Klub-Historie!

Bitter für Iker: Mit zehn Pluspunkten lag Bietigheim vor dem Spieltag gleichauf mit dem HC Erlangen (Platz 16) – der allerdings am Donnerstag mit Big Points gegen die Rhein-Neckar Löwen vorlegte.
Der spanische Rückraumspezialist lief vier Jahre für die Füchse Berlin auf, war auch Kapitän. Als der baskische Publikumsliebling vor zehn Jahren seine Karriere beendete, hissten die Füchse ein riesiges Trikot mit seinem Namen und der Nummer 18 unter dem Hallendach der Max-Schmeling-Halle.
Interessant: Romero übernimmt ab Sommer die österreichische Handball-Nationalmannschaft, trainiert also auch Füchse-Kreisläufer Lukas Herburger (30). Der Bregenzer zeigt direkt, aus welchem Holz er geschnitzt ist, kassiert im Spiel zwei Zwei-Minuten-Strafen.
Nichts zu holen in der alten Heimat: Iker Romero (44) muss mit Bietigheim weiter um den Klassenerhalt zittern

Die Berliner haben kein Erbarmen mit der Füchse-Legende!
Beide Teams kommen gut in die Partie, wirken fokussiert, kommen schnell zum Abschluss und machen ihre Tore. Nach nur neun Minuten steht es schon 8:7.
Kein Wunder, die Angriffs-Maschinerie der Füchse ist die beste in der Daikin Handball-Bundesliga, aber auch die Bietigheimer stehen dem überraschend in nichts nach.
Dieses Tempo können die Gäste aber nicht lange mitgehen. Keeper Dejan Milosavljev glänzt mit zwei starken Paraden, Matthias Gidsel trifft schnell viermal und baut den Vorsprung auf fünf Tore aus (20. Minute). Jetzt ist es wieder das Duell zwischen Tabellenführer und Abstiegskandidat und die Halle im Party-Rausch!

Die Füchse kommen heiß aus der Kabine, immerhin geht’s im Duell mit der punktgleichen MT Melsungen auch um jedes Tor.
Tim Freihöfer verwandelt den Siebenmeter direkt, Alen Hadzimuhamedovic kann mit seinem Treffer zwar noch einmal auf vier Tore verkürzen (33.), doch spätestens mit der 2-Minuten-Strafe für Maximilian Hejny kommen die Füchse richtig in Fahrt. Nach 40 Minuten beträgt der Vorsprung bereits sieben Tore.
Die Füchse spielen sich in einen Rausch. Zehn Minuten vor Schluss trifft Fabian Wiede zum 37:29. Auch Torwart Lasse Ludwig darf glänzen – er pariert spektakulär, klemmt den Ball zwischen den Beinen ein. Die Halle tobt!
Am Ende wird es sogar ein 42:30-Erfolg. Beste Werfer sind Mathias Gidsel mit zehn und Tim Freihöfer mit acht Toren.
Für die Füchse ist das der siebte Sieg im siebten Aufeinandertreffen mit der SG BBM Bietigheim. Schon im Hinspiel unterlagen die Bietigheimer den Füchsen deutlich mit 24:38.
