A onda de técnicos portugueses que tem tomado conta do futebol brasileiro nos últimos tempos trouxe vários nomes para o país. Um deles o de Paulo Gomes, que teve passagem recente pelo Botafogo-SP e que, agora, espera seguir seu futuro no país.
Experiência no futebol paulista
Em 2024, foram nove meses comandando a Pantera, nos quais estabeleceu marcas de importância para a equipe de Ribeirão Preto. Levou a equipe para a terceira fase da Copa do Brasil, se tornou o segundo treinador com mais partidas no número geral (43) e o que mais comandou o Tricolor em jogos da Série B do Brasileirão (27). Um período ao qual o português exalta bastante em sua carreira.
“Foi uma grande experiência no Botafogo-SP. Uma oportunidade muito boa de poder mostrar meu trabalho aqui no Brasil, um país pelo qual tenho grande admiração. Gosto muito do futebol brasileiro e sempre foi um desejo poder trabalhar aqui”, disse Paulo Gomes.
Planos para o futuro
Desde sua saída do Botafogo-SP, Paulo Gomes manteve-se cuidando de seus estudos no futebol, e agora está tentando se recolocar no mercado. O foco do treinador é de seguir no futebol brasileiro, no qual deseja um ‘projeto ambicioso’ para poder prosseguir com sua carreira.
“Depois desta primeira experiência, eu venho buscando uma nova oportunidade para seguir trabalhando aqui no Brasil. Passei esse período em que deixei o Botafogo estudando e me especializando. Mostrei que posso competir em alto nível no futebol brasileiro e agora busco um projeto mais ambicioso para dar continuidade ao que iniciamos. Agora, está tudo nas mãos dos meus agentes”, declarou.
