Saturday Night Live didn’t hold back in its May 3 cold open, turning the spotlight-and some sharp jokes-toward former New England Patriots coach Bill Belichick and his much younger girlfriend, Jordon Hudson.
The sketch, featuring James Austin Johnson as Donald Trump, leaned into the comedic possibilities of the couple’s 49-year age difference, making it the punchline of a fictional executive order.
While parodying a Trump press conference, Johnson’s character announced a new initiative inspired by Belichick’s relationship, declaring, “We’re calling it ‘The Belichick Law.’ We’re going to make girlfriends young again.”
The sketch continued to mock the double standard around older men dating younger women, with Trump joking, “Old men can now date far younger women. We like that. It’s hot! But in reverse, it’s quite disgusting, right? Very Dateline.”
Mikey Day, playing Trump adviser Stephen Miller, added to the satire by describing the order as a measure to “make it socially acceptable for a man in his 70s to date a 24-year-old.”
The joke was a direct reference to Belichick, 73, and Hudson, a former cheerleader and philosophy major, who reportedly met on a flight to Palm Beach in April 2021.
Public reaction and media moments
Though the sketch leaned heavily on comedy, it highlighted the growing public attention and media scrutiny surrounding the couple. Belichick and Hudson made their red carpet debut at The Museum Gala in December 2024.
A source close to the coach told People magazine that “he’s never been happier,” adding that Hudson brings a calming, positive influence into his life.
“Bill doesn’t care about all the talk surrounding his and Jordon’s relationship,” said the insider. “He’s never been happier than he is with Jordon. She brings a positive energy, and people haven’t seen him this relaxed and laidback in a while.”
Still, their relationship has raised eyebrows, especially following a recent interview on CBS Sunday Morning. When correspondent Tony Dokoupil asked about how they met, Hudson interjected, “We’re not talking about this,” leading to speculation about their dynamic.
Belichick later clarified in a statement that she wasn’t deflecting but was keeping the interview on track. “We’ve been open about the fact that Jordon and I met on a flight in 2021,” he said.
This isn’t the first time the age gap has made headlines. During the 2025 NFL Honors, host Snoop Dogg joked, “I remember when the Cowboys were good, the Chiefs were bad-and Bill Belichick’s girlfriend wasn’t even born yet.”
As media and pop culture continue to weigh in, it’s clear that Belichick and Hudson’s relationship remains a source of fascination, controversy, and, inevitably, comedy fodder.
