The Met Gala and Taylor Swift don’t seem too fond of each other. Despite fans wanting to see their favorite music artist there, Swift skipped the 2025 version, just like she has for the past nine years. It would have been nice to see Swift and boyfriend Travis Kelce in eccentric outfits together, similar to Simone Biles and Jonathan Owens, but fans were let down.
According to reports, Swift and Kelce want more privacy in their relationship going forward. Attending an event like the Met Gala, which has an enormous amount of attention and eyes on it, doesn’t align with their current relationship plan. But it doesn’t seem like Swift likes the event very much, as she hasn’t attended since 2016. Swift got a big win after skipping, though.

Taylor Swift keeps setting music milestones
On Tuesday, her “folklore” album surpassed 600 million streams in 2025 on Spotify. She’s reportedly the only music artist to have three different albums surpass 600 million streams this year. It goes to show that Swift’s music is timeless.

Swift has been using her down time to spend plenty of quality time with Kelce. With her tour finished and Kelce in the offseason, this is the perfect opportunity for the two to reconnect after such a busy year.
Fans of Swift are waiting for her to come out with new music, but that doesn’t seem to be her focus at the moment. Her latest release came in October, and it was a seven-song setlist of her The Eras Tour performances.
