In einem Interview mit dem Magazin „Sports Illustrated“ gibt Leverkusen-Star Florian Wirtz preis, dass er bereit für neue Herausforderungen ist und eine Veränderung nicht ausschließt. „Es reizt mich auf jeden Fall, auch irgendwann meine Komfortzone zu verlassen und etwas Neues zu erleben“, sagte der DFB-Star.
Wirtz weiter: „Ich kenne die Fußballkabinen gut genug und bin überzeugt, dass ich überall schnell Anschluss finden würde.“
[–>Die Aussagen von Wirtz lassen aufhorchen, besonders vor dem Hintergrund eines möglichen Wechsels zum FC Bayern, der immer wahrscheinlicher wird. Nach SPORT BILD-Informationen soll der Nationalspieler inzwischen Bayer-Trainer Xabi Alonso (43) darüber informiert haben, dass er weder zu Real Madrid noch zu Manchester City wechseln will. Sondern nur nach München!
Sein Vertrag beim entthronten Meister Leverkusen läuft noch bis 2027, doch die Bayern haben ihn als Transfer-Ziel Nummer 1 auserkoren. Für den Offensiv-Star zählt die sportliche Perspektive mehr als das Gehalt.
„Natürlich sollte man sich darum kümmern, dass man einen guten Vertrag bekommt. Aber da ist die sportliche Perspektive für mich viel entscheidender als das Geld“, sagte Wirtz bei „Sports Illustrated“. Bei seinem Wechsel aus Köln habe er damals „keine einzige Sekunde“ über sein Gehalt nachgedacht, betonte er.
Bei einem Wechsel zu den Bayern will er jedoch in die Gehaltsklasse seines Kumpels Jamal Musiala (22) aufsteigen und 25 Millionen Euro pro Jahr kassieren.
Bayer Leverkusen hat die Hoffnung auf einen Verbleib von Wirtz aber noch nicht aufgegeben und ihm ein neues Angebot über 12 Millionen Euro pro Jahr vorgelegt – mehr als je ein Bayer-Profi zuvor bekommen hat. Doch unterschrieben hat Wirtz noch nicht – vielleicht bald in München?
