Casquero: “¿Lo de Pepe? Si me pasa en el Sevilla con Pablo Alfaro o Javi Navarro todavía estamos dándonos”

Javi Casquero tiene -casi- el doble de años de los que aparenta. “Me mantengo muy bien porque hago mucho deporte. Llevo la misma alimentación que cuando era profesional“, confiesa a un año de cumplir los 50. “Hago mucho trabajo de fuerza y juego al pádel, que es el deporte de los exfutbolistas”, bromea. Se formó en las categorías inferiores del Real Madrid, fue clave en Sevilla y Getafe y completó su carrera en Toledo, Cultural Leonesa, Atlético de Madrid ‘B’, Racing de Santander, Almería y Sporting. Es entrenador, director deportivo y comentarista. Su experiencia le avala y ahora puedes verlo en las retransmisiones de DAZN o escucharlo en Tiempo de Juego y Radio MARCA. En una carrera de 20 años marcada por la profesionalidad y el respeto, muchos le recuerdan por ser la víctima del día en que Pepe perdió los papeles. Lamentablemente para Casquero hay una imagen con la que se relaciona constantemente en la que él es sólo una víctima que pasaba por allí. “En cualquier sitio que pusieras mi nombre aparecía esa jugada. Pensé: ¿por qué a mí? En 20 años como profesional te puede tocar vivir cosas buenas y malas y esa la viví de manera directa, aunque fuera indirecta, porque yo no hice absolutamente nada, sólo pasaba por ahí y recibí por todos los lados“, recuerda.

El futbolista reconoce que “hubo mucho ruido exterior porque era un jugador importante del Real Madrid. Hubo situaciones para intentar lavar su imagen, pero yo he sido una persona muy recta en esto y siempre he dicho que, si alguien quiere hablar de mí, que sea por mis méritos. Para mí las cosas quedan en el campo y un apretón de manos hubiera valido. Hemos jugado muchas veces en contra, pero creo que es un momento casi de vergüenza, de pensar qué me podía decir”. 

El futbolista del Real Madrid perdió los papeles por completo.

Además, Casquero desvela que no le importaría tomar un café con él en privado, pero nunca en público. “Me han ofrecido un reencuentro en los medios muchas veces, pero siempre lo he denegado porque no quiero promocionar esto. Si alguien quisiera hablar de ese momento conmigo, cuando quiera, pero nunca lo haré de cara al exterior porque no va conmigo. Yo no tengo rencor a nadie. Me lo han ofrecido en radios, periódicos, entrar en llamadas cruzadas… Lo han intentado muchas veces, pero ya se han cansado. Si llega a pasar en mi época de Sevilla todavía estamos dándonos. Con Pablo Alfaro, Javi Navarro… Si está Darío Silva estamos todavía allí en el Bernabéu”, bromeó.

Sevilla y Getafe, la cara y la cruz

Dos de los equipos en los que Javi Casquero triunfó viven ahora momentos muy diferentes. El Getafe ha optimizado sus recursos para aferrarse a Primera División, mientras el Sevilla vive uno de sus peores momentos. “Lo vivo con tristeza porque yo soy sevillista. Me da pena que mi equipo esté en esta situación. Cuando llegué costó mucho que volviera a ser un club respetado y sentamos las bases de un Sevilla campeón junto a Joaquín Caparrós. Ahora es un momento duro para la afición, que es muy pasional. No les gusta nada cómo se está llevando el club por fuera y eso afecta en la masa social. Esperemos que pronto se salga de esa situación y vuela la normalidad“, desea.

En el otro lado de la balanza está el Getafe. “Es un equipo de autor. Bordalás mejora a todos los jugadores. Es un equipo muy reconocible. Es un entrenador muy inteligente que, sabiendo que no tiene tanto talento ofensivo, lo basa todo en la defensa. Jugar en Getafe mola. Es un club familiar y la afición es muy cercana por eso rinden tan bien los jugadores que van allí. Es un referente en nuestra Liga, creo que si no hubiera Getafe habría que inventarlo“, sentenció.

 Además, durante la entrevista Casquero nos desvela los secretos de Ibiza, las anécdotas de su época como jugador o la pasión con la que sigue la carrera de su hija Bibiana, que se está formando en el Real Madrid y actualmente se recupera de una grave lesión.
