Roberto Rivellino está decepcionado com a ausência técnica do Botafogo. Apesar da vitória contra o Carabobo, pela Libertadores, a percepção de todos foi extremamente negativa perante uma atuação que deixou os botafoguenses irritados, sobretudo com o técnico Renato Paiva.
No programa ‘Cartão Verde’, da TV Cultura, o ex-jogador teceu duras críticas ao futebol apresentado pela equipe carioca.
“Mas que sofrível o Botafogo, hein…O Botafogo está sofrível. O torcedor não está nada satisfeito, um futebol quadrado, não se encontra em campo”, disparou Rivellino.
No Grupo A da Libertadores, a situação botafoguense ainda é incerta. Com seis pontos ganhos, é o terceiro colocado da chave, atrás de Estudiantes (9) e Universidad de Chile (7). Agora, serão dois confrontos em casa para o atual campeão continental assegurar vaga nas oitavas de final.
Alertado por Rivellino, Botafogo reage à pressão externa
No dia seguinte à vitória sobre o Carabobo, muros do estádio Nilton Santos amanheceram pichados com protestos direcionados ao técnico Renato Paiva. Ele, porém, garantiu que não se abala com as cobranças de fora.
“Pressão, pressão, pressão. Se não ganha, te cobram, querem que ganhem, e isso não é só no Brasil, é em todo lugar. É universal. Eu tenho que focar em fazer o meu trabalho. Se a pressão influenciar no meu trabalho, eu não posso estar aqui, tenho que sair”, declarou o português.
Nas redes sociais, o tom crítico se repete e muitos têm cobrado o empresário John Textor pela troca na comissão técnica.

No domingo (11), o Botafogo vai enfrentar o Internacional, às 20h (de Brasília), no Rio de Janeiro, pela oitava rodada do Campeonato Brasileiro. Com oito pontos conquistados até aqui, o Glorioso aparece em 12º lugar na tabela..
