Meister-Trainer Xabi Alonso (43) wird Bayer Leverkusen nach der Saison verlassen. Wohin er wechseln wird, ist noch nicht offiziell bestätigt aber schon lange ein offenes Geheimnis. Der Spanier wird in seine Heimat zurückkehren, dort Weltklub Real Madrid übernehmen.
Schon jetzt hat sich ein Leverkusen-Star von seinem Trainer verabschiedet – und das mit einer sehr emotionalen Botschaft.
Xhakas emotionaler Abschied von Alonso
„Abschied zu nehmen ist nie leicht – besonders von jemandem, der unseren Weg so stark geprägt hat“, schrieb Bayers Mittelfeld-Abräumer Granit Xhaka (32) bei Instagram. „Du hast uns nicht nur trainiert – du hast uns inspiriert. Wir werden deine Lektionen weit über das Spielfeld hinaustragen“, so der Schweizer weiter.
[–>In Madrid wird Alonso aller Wahrscheinlichkeit die Nachfolge von Trainer-Star Carlo Ancelotti (65) antreten. Der Italiener wird bei Real – trotz Vertrag bis 2026 – wohl nicht weitermachen dürfen. Der LaLiga-Klub plant einen Umbruch, diesen soll Alonso durchführen.
Für sein nächstes Kapitel wünsche ihm Xhaka „alles Gute, Gesundheit und Erfolg“. „Du wirst immer ein Teil unseres Teams sein, egal, wohin dich das Leben führt. Einmal Coach, immer eine Legende“, schloss der Schweizer Nationalspieler seinen emotionalen Post ab.

Und was sagt Ancelotti über seinen möglichen Nachfolger? „Ihm stehen alle Türen offen, denn er hat gezeigt, dass er einer der besten Trainer der Welt ist.“ Alonso habe in Leverkusen, wo er in der vergangenen Saison die Meisterschaft und den DFB-Pokal holte, „einen fantastischen Job“ gemacht, lobte Ancelotti weiter.
Alonso hat es geschafft, Leverkusen endgültig vom „Vizekusen“-Image zu befreien. In der vergangenen Saison holte die Werkself unter ihm das Double aus Meisterschaft und DFB-Pokal, durchbrach damit die Dominanz des FC Bayern München.
Jetzt wartet mit Real sein nächster Karriere-Schritt. In Leverkusen wird er auf jeden Fall fehlen …
