The woman, who shared her experience on Facebook, was on a flight from Denver when she found herself seated next to a polite, well-mannered young man who helped her with her luggage and tray.

She didn’t recognize him at first but noticed other passengers congratulating him and taking photos.
Then came the moment of realization.
“I turned and asked him, ‘Who am I sitting next to?'” she wrote.
“I looked at his Jaguar pants, smiled, and asked, ‘Are you an athlete?’ He smiled and said, ‘I’m Travis. Yes, I was drafted by the Jags.'”
The woman added, “I already told my sons I want his jersey. He’s so humble and down-to-earth-I would have never guessed he was a professional athlete.”
Hunter’s character off the field is earning as much praise as his accolades on it.
After a Heisman-winning season and a jersey retirement at Colorado, he was selected second overall in the 2025 NFL Draft following a trade-up by the Jaguars.
Now in rookie minicamp, he’s tackling the rare challenge of preparing to play both offense and defense at the professional level.
Jaguars head coach Liam Coen confirmed the team started Hunter at wide receiver, explaining, “We just kind of ended up making a decision that from yesterday to today we wanted to be able to clean up some of the things that we may have been able to miss yesterday, get extra reps on the offensive side of the ball, and next week he’ll start to roll on defense.”
Hunter, for his part, is embracing the learning curve.
“It’s just a lot of different types of calls, but other than that, the defense is pretty easy,” he said.
“You’ve just got to get used to the offense.”
With humility at 30,000 feet and versatility on the field, Travis Hunter is quickly becoming a fan favorite before his first NFL snap.
