Nach nur neun Monaten wurde Martin Demichelis (44) beim CF Monterrey entlassen. Auslöser: Das verlorene Viertelfinale der Clausura 2025 – der ersten Meisterschaftsentscheidung. Das teilte der Klub in einer Stellungnahme offiziell mit.
[–>Darin heißt es ganz nüchtern: „Wir informieren unsere Fans und die Medien, dass der Verein beschlossen hat, Martín Demichelis’ Amtszeit als Cheftrainer der ersten Mannschaft der Rayados mit Wirkung zum Sonntag, 11. Mai 2025, zu beenden.“
Und weiter: „Wir schätzen die Professionalität und das Engagement von Martín und seinem Trainerstab während dieser Zeit und wünschen ihnen viel Erfolg für ihre zukünftigen Bemühungen.“
Der Ex-Bayern-Star hatte vergangenen August das Traineramt übernommen. Die Bilanz liest sich gar nicht so schlecht: 43 Spiele, 20 Siege, elf Unentschieden und zwölf Niederlagen. Aber in den wichtigen Spielen patzte die Mannschaft, für die auch Ex-Real-Star Sergio Ramos (39) spielt.
Das Hinspiel des Viertelfinales gegen Toluca gewann Monterrey mit 3:2. Im Rückspiel verloren sie mit 1:2. Da das höher gesetzte Team weiterkommt und Toluca die reguläre Saison an der Spitze abgeschlossen hatte, bedeutete das das Aus.
In der zweiten Meisterschaftsentscheidung 2024, der Apertura, hatte der Klub mit Demichelis zwar das Finale erreicht, dort aber 2:3 gegen Club América verloren. Im Concacaf Champions Cup war sogar bereits im Achtelfinale Schluss.
Nach einem halben Jahr ohne Verein unterschrieb Ramos als Verstärkung für die Abwehr bei Monterrey einen Vertrag bis Ende des Jahres. Auch das half nicht. Im verlorenen Rückspiel fehlte der ehemals gefürchtete Abwehr-Star allerdings.

Demichelis begann seine Trainer-Karriere 2019 beim deutschen Rekordmeister. Bis November 2022 war er dort als Trainer der U19 und zweiten Mannschaft. Sein Weg könnte jetzt zurück nach Deutschland führen. Denn: Demichelis soll bei Leverkusen auf der Liste stehen. Als Nachfolger von Xabi Alonso.
Dass es so kommt, ist aber eher unwahrscheinlich. Leverkusen will Cesc Fàbregas als neuen Trainer – und hat auch gute Chancen. Nach SPORT BILD-Informationen soll Fàbregas Como nur in Richtung Leverkusen verlassen wollen.
