A contratação de Carlo Ancelotti para técnico da seleção brasileira, anunciada pela CBf nesta segunda-feira, foi aprovada pelo presidente Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva. Em viagem oficial à China, Lula afirmou que o italiano é um grande técnico, mas ressaltou que o problema do Brasil é outro: “Nós estamos numa entressafra de jogadores. É só lembrarmos do nosso ataque de 2002 e 2006 para você vê que estamos longe daquilo lá”.
— Se formos analisar a biografia do Ancelotti, ele é um grande técnico. Foi um bom jogador, um bom técnico. Mas o problema do Brasil, eu acho, é que nós estamos numa entressafra de jogadores. Não é igual ao que já tivemos. Se compararmos essa safra com 58, 62, 70, 82, 86, 2002 e 2006, essa safra é mais frágil. É só lembrarmos nosso ataque de 2002 e 2006 para você vê que estamos longe daquilo lá — afirmou o presidente.
Lula diz que Ancelotti é ótimo treinador, mas a questão é a entressafra de jogadores
Ainda assim, Lula espera que a larga experiência de Ancelotti dê conta de classificar a seleção à Copa do Mundo de 2026, e, quem sabe, vencê-la. Também afirmou que não tem nada contra o Brasil ser comandado por um técnico estrangeiro, apesar de o país ter muitos técnicos brasileiros capazes de dirigir a equipe.
— O nosso problema, talvez, seja mais estrutural, mais organizacional para que a gente possa ter uma boa seleção. Acho muito difícil ficar juntando jogador 15 dias antes do jogo, treinador dois dias, escalar o time e achar que vai ganhar, quando todo mundo se prepara muito — disse.
O presidente ainda deu uma dica à CBF:
— Já disse ao presidente da CBF. Gostaria de fazer uma experiência convocando os melhores jogadores que terminam o Campeonato Brasileiro. Terminou o Brasileiro, vamos fazer uma seleção dos 22 melhores jogadores para ver o que dá. Acho que seria igual, ou melhor, do que convocando de todo o mundo.
