Milton Neves não está nada satisfeito com o rendimento do Santos na temporada. Em texto publicado no UOL Esporte nesta segunda, ele repercutiu o empate do Peixe frente ao Ceará, pelo Brasileirão, e opinou que o clube alvinegro tem um desempenho de Série B.
Na matéria intitulada de “O Santos tem torcida de Série A e futebol de Série B”, o jornalista fez cobranças ao trabalho de Cléber Xavier, e disse não acreditar que o time irá reagir de forma significativa com o substituto de Pedro Caixinha.
“Empate sem gols contra o Ceará, que, mesmo jogando bem, não é resultado que se comemore! Porque jogar bem e não ganhar é consolo de time pequeno. E o Santos, mesmo que maltratado, AINDA é gigante!”, iniciou Milton Neves.
“E eu, honestamente, já começo a achar que não será com Cleber Xavier que isso acontecerá! (remontada). Sim, eu sei que ainda é cedo e que ele apenas está começando. Mas se nem aquele ‘choque’ inicial o treinador conseguiu dar. Muito preocupante, meus amigos!”, concluiu.

Com o tropeço diante do Ceará, o Peixe chegou aos cinco pontos e permanece mergulhado na zona de rebaixamento, agora com quatro tentos de diferença em relação ao SPFC, primeiro time fora da degola. A campanha do alvinegro em oito rodadas só é superior a do Sport, lanterna e único time que ainda não venceu.

Em outro trecho da coluna, Milton Neves fez questão de destacar a festa arrepiante que os torcedores do Santos fizeram no Allianz Parque, empurrando o alvinegro no primeiro jogo como mandante da equipe na casa do rival palestrino. No entendimento dele, o time está abaixo da torcida há um bom tempo.
Diante do Vozão, 35.240 pagantes marcaram presença, quebrando o recorde de público do time na temporada 2025. Após o apito final, vaias ecoaram das arquibancadas.
