Com a derrota por 1 a 0 para o Lanús, na noite desta terça-feira, pela Copa Sul-Americana, o Vasco chegou ao nono jogo consecutivo sem vencer. A última vitória foi há um mês, no dia 12 de abril, contra o Sport. Com a sequência ruim, o cruz-maltino ocupa a zona de rebaixamento do Campeonato Brasileiro, com sete pontos e a 17ª colocação, e precisará superar o Melgar na última rodada para se classificar na segunda colocação do torneio internacional, o que o dará vaga nos playoffs.
O cenário, claro, não agrada aos atletas. Philippe Coutinho, um dos líderes do elenco e que não vive boa fase, falou sobre o que precisa melhorar para que a equipe consiga resultados melhores.
— Foi um resultado difícil. Não era o que necessitávamos. Óbvio que precisávamos sair daqui com os pontos. Mas sabemos que classificam dois e ainda temos chances no último jogo em casa. Acho que precisamos nos juntar, cada um assumir a responsabilidade de vestir essa camisa, que é gigantesca. Só assim, trabalhando triplicado, vamos conseguir os resultados que esse clube merece — disse.
No próximo sábado, o Vasco volta a São Januário depois de três semanas para receber o Fortaleza, pelo Brasileirão.
