Vor dem Derby zwischen Mainz und Frankfurt am 4. Mai (1:1) kamen die Bosse beider Klubs in einer Loge im Mainzer Stadion zusammen. Christian Heidel (61) hatte unter anderem die Eintracht-Führung um Axel Hellmann (53) und Markus Krösche (44) eingeladen. Zwei Stunden dauerte das Treffen. Mit keinem Wort erwähnt wurde der Name Jonathan Burkardt (24).
Der Mainz-Stürmer (18 Pflichtspieltreffer/Vertrag bis 2027) ist Frankfurts Wunschspieler. Nach SPORT BILD-Infos steht Eintracht im ständigen Austausch mit ihm, bietet viel Spielzeit, mehr Gehalt und womöglich auch die Champions League.
„Ich bin da entspannt“, sagt Heidel. „Ich habe mit Markus Krösche kein einziges Wort über Jonny Burkardt gewechselt. Jeder kann zu mir kommen und mit mir reden. Allerdings erst nach der Saison.“

Er hat seinen Vertrag im letzten Sommer nicht verlängert, um ihn sofort wieder aufzulösen.“
Amiri, der nach dem Sieg in Bochum (4:1) einem Treuebekenntnis auswich, kam im Januar 2024 für eine Million aus Leverkusen, steigerte seinen Marktwert von vier auf 18 Mio. Euro. Im März hatte ihn Julian Nagelsmann (37) erstmals seit November 2020 wieder für die Nationalelf nominiert. Amiri träumt von der WM 2026. Dafür braucht er einen Klub, der voll auf ihn setzt.
