Vergangenen Sonntag spielten sie für die deutsche Handball-Nationalmannschaft noch zusammen in der Europameisterschafts-Qualifikation in Stuttgart gegen die Türkei (44:26).
Freitag (20 Uhr, live bei Dyn/Anzeige) treffen die Nationalspieler Joel Birlehm (28), Justus Fischer (22), Renars Uscins (23) und Timo Kastening (29) direkt aufeinander, wenn die TSV Hannover-Burgdorf die MT Melsungen im Spitzenspiel der Daikin Handball-Bundesliga empfängt.

Handball-Völler brachte vier Stars nachts nach Hause
Direkt nach der Partie gegen die Türken verstreuten sich die deutschen Nationalspieler in fast alle Himmelsrichtungen. Vier mussten zurück in den Norden. Wie passend, dass auch der Team-Manager der Nationalmannschaft denselben Heimweg hatte.
Benjamin Chatton (44), der in Burgdorf (Region Hannover) lebt und beim Deutschen Handballbund (DHB) eine ähnliche Rolle einnimmt wie Rudi Völler beim DFB, saß am Steuer eines Bullys einer bekannten deutschen Automobilmarke. Mit im Fahrzeug waren Birlehm, Fischer, Uscins und Melsungens Kapitän Kastening, der in Kassel als Erster ausstieg. Am frühen Montagmorgen war die Rückreise gegen 2 Uhr beendet.
[–>„Timo und Joel saßen in der letzten Reihe, Justus in der zweiten und ich ganz vorn“, berichtet Beifahrer Uscins, der den Reise-DJ spielte. Der Rückraum-Linkshänder weiter: „Von ganz hinten kamen ständig Musikwünsche, die ich am Pult erfüllt habe. Zum Beispiel ‘Griechischer Wein‘ oder Songs von Herbert Grönemeyer und den Toten Hosen. Da war alles dabei.“
Außer zu Musik-Genüssen kam es auch zu Gesprächen über den Handball und die Bundesliga. Uscins mit einem Grinsen: „Natürlich wurde auch heiß diskutiert, welcher Verein bis 2027 die besten Voraussetzungen hat.“
Gut möglich, dass er damit seine eigene Mannschaft von der TSV Hannover-Burgdorf meint. Bei den Niedersachsen wirft das letzte Saison-Heimspiel gegen den THW Kiel (4. Juni) schon jetzt seine Schatten voraus. Der 5. Juni ist der internationale „Tag der Umwelt“, deshalb wird die TSV am Abend zuvor in grünen Sondertrikots gegen Kiel antreten.
Fans können Trikots (75 Euro) aus der streng limitierten Auflage bereits am Freitag beim Heimspiel gegen Melsungen in der ZAG-Arena erwerben.
