A chegada de Carlo Ancelotti rendeu um debate na Equipe F, da ESPN. Projetando possíveis nomes na primeira convocação do italiano, Zinho deu sua opinião a respeito de Thiago Silva.
Há alguns anos, o zagueiro do Fluminense deixou de ser chamado para vestir a amarelinha. Apesar da idade considerada alta, o comentarista da ESPN não vê o defensor merecendo uma nova chance por conta do seu desempenho.
“Não é a carência maior na zaga. Eu respeito o Thiago Silva, ídolo, craque, fez muito na sua carreira, mas para a Copa do Mundo… ele tem 40 anos. Agora, se ele estiver voando e arrebentando no Fluminense, pode trazer sim, dar vivência aos mais jovens. Só que o rendimento dele hoje no Fluminense não me convence”, analisou Zinho.
“Ele joga um campeonato competitivo como o Brasileirão, mas não o vejo como o melhor zagueiro e já merecedor de ser convocado. E aí não pode ser chamado por serviços prestados à seleção, tem que ser convocado se estiver melhor que os demais zagueiros. Hoje, ele não é o melhor do futebol brasileiro. Não vejo idade, mas desempenho”, acrescenta o tetra.

Capitão do Fluminense, Thiago Silva alegou ter sido mal interpretado em sua fala após a derrota para o Atlético, domingo, pelo Campeonato Brasileiro. Na ocasião, o zagueiro usou duras palavras ao cobrar um melhor desempenho da equipe.
“Quero corrigir e deixar bem claro que caráter não falta para ninguém desse grupo. Gostaria de esclarecer que a palavra correta seria personalidade para o momento de dificuldade que atravessamos devido aos últimos resultados. Me expressei mal e peço desculpas aos meus companheiros por isso”, escreveu nas redes sociais.

O Fluminense não teve dificuldades para bater o Unión Española, por 2 a 0, nesta quarta-feira, no Maracanã. Com gols de Keno e Samuel Xavier, o Tricolor das Laranjeiras agora lidera o Grupo F com 10 pontos, mas torce por um tropeço hoje do Once Caldas para se manter na ponta.
