The number of those who have tried is as vast as those who have failed to make the Browns a winning team.
The Worst Is Expected for Shedeur Sanders
This is precisely the challenge facing Shedeur Sanders, and not just him, but also Dillon Gabriel, who joined via the 2025 NFL Draft, alongside Kenny Pickett, Deshaun Watson, and Joe Flacco, who already has a history with the Browns.
How to Bet the NFL Coach of the Year Award Market?
Given this scenario, Fox host Colin Cowherd shared his opinion on what Sanders faces, and it’s far from encouraging:
“When I look at Shedeur, all I can think of is Johnny Manziel, Deshaun Watson, and Baker Mayfield. This is what happens, this is what losing causes. Hope it ends well, I’ve got my doubts.”
That’s how the pundit made it clear about the player who will be the focal point of headlines throughout the 2025 NFL season.
From being considered a first-round pick, Sanders fell to the seventh round, and in reality, he has no direct connection to the previous quarterbacks who passed through the franchise.
In fact, his popularity could be compared to Manziel‘s, but the key difference is that much of his prominence stems from being the son of Deion Sanders.
Comparing him to Baker Mayfield isn’t entirely far-fetched. The QB managed to lead the Browns to the playoffs, but he didn’t seem to be the complete solution, especially after suffering an injury that sidelined him.
But Shedeur Sanders will have the chance to silence his critics, first by winning the starting role with the Browns, and then by establishing himself as a game-changer.
