Zico considera que os times brasileiros não devem ser subestimados no Mundial de Clubes. Antes da bola rolar nos Estados Unidos, o ex-jogador explicou o ponto de vista ao mencionar Chelsea e Manchester City. Levando em conta o desempenho dos clubes na temporada, o Galinho sinalizou o cenário ideal para Flamengo e Botafogo surpreenderem no torneio.
“O futebol brasileiro, hoje, está em um patamar semelhante. No Campeonato Inglês e na Champions League, Chelsea e City não estão legais, como o Fluminense não está legal aqui.”, disse Zico, no Papo de Mundial, da ESPN.
“Flamengo e Botafogo têm que aproveitar esse momento e saber que os caras não estão com essa bola toda.”, acrescentou.
Inicialmente, o Chelsea está no caminho do Flamengo em confronto do Grupo D do Mundial. Enquanto isso, o Botafogo tem pela frente PSG e Atlético de Madrid na disputa do forte Grupo B.
Zico exalta força do Flamengo
Sob o comando de Filipe Luís, o Flamengo possui um dos elencos mais fortes dos representantes fora da Europa. Neste cenário, o plantel montado foi mencionado por Zico como trunfo para o Mundial.
“O Flamengo fez contratações e foi ajustando o time. Neste ano, começou a fazer investimentos pontuais. Eu acho que o Flamengo está com mais peças de reposição.”, afirmou.
Desempenho contra o Liverpool
Anteriormente, Flamengo e Liverpool fizeram um duelo parelho na final do Mundial de 2019. Recordando o embate decidido através do gol de Roberto Firmino, Zico avalia que, de forma injusta, Lincoln recebeu críticas por desperdiçar a chance que levaria o jogo para os pênaltis.
“Pareceu um jogo equilibrado, tanto é que foi 0 a 0 nos 90 minutos. O Liverpool e o Flamengo tiveram chances. Muita gente criticou o Lincoln no último lance do jogo, mas é uma bola difícil. Não é fácil, de lado, pegar a bola e acertar o gol. Ele não ia conseguir jogar do outro lado porque tinha um zagueiro chegando. Se a bola vai na direção do gol, o Alisson pegaria.”, opinou.
