The PGA Championship has returned to Quail Hollow Club, and with it, a fresh wave of excitement-and serious cash-on the line. As 156 players tee off in Charlotte, the stakes go well beyond trophies and bragging rights.
While fans will be watching closely to see who handles the pressure and whose putter catches fire, the players have even more on their minds: how much they stand to earn. The PGA of America hasn’t officially released the 2025 prize purse yet, but based on last year’s numbers and the rising trend across major championships, expectations are sky-high.

In 2024, Xander Schauffele walked away with a $3.3 million winner’s check from an $18.5 million purse. That was 18% of the pot. If the purse climbs to $20 million this year-as some experts anticipate-this year’s champ could pocket over $3.6 million.

How USMNT Gold Cup hero Diego Luna quickly became a Mauricio Pochettino favorite after flirting with Mexico
It was not Diego Luna's first time with the U.S. men's national team but the abridged version of the story arc begins with an elbow to the face. In the first half of the USMNT's 3-0 win over Costa Rica last winter, an otherwise unmemorable match during the annual but frequently inconsequential January camp, Luna's nose was broken, blood rushing out of both of his nostrils. It inspired a great quote out of head coach Mauricio Pochettino, who was just months into the job, but more importantly, it is the origin story of the 21-year-old's quick rise from international obscurity to a national team mainstay."I was very surprised, because it was broke, you know?" Pochettino said in a post-match interview. "But I didn't want to say nothing [with] too much drama, because [it might] scare him. I said, 'How do […]
