Prožil jste nejemotivnější okamžik v Jablonci?
Určitě, emoce byly velké. Tenhle týden je vůbec na vlně emocí, když jsme ve středu čekali na pohár a tam nám Sparta nedopřála. Byli jsme hodně zklamaní. Ale stejně jsme se museli na tento zápas nachystat. Řekli jsme si, že když nám druzí nepomůžou, musíme to zvládnout sami. Vítězství bylo hodně důležité.
Po prohře Sparty jste se posunuli na čtvrté místo. Znali jste průběžný stav z Ostravy?
Znal jsem jen poločasový výsledek 3:0, potom jsem se na to už nesoustředil, neznal jsem ho. Ale z reakcí všech okolo jsem tušil, že se to povedlo. Jde to podle plánu. (usměje se)
Dosud jste museli spoléhat na jiné výsledky, nyní máte pohárovou Evropu ve svých rukách. Velká změna?
V nadstavbě je to zajímavé. Zprvu se zdálo, že na čtvrté místo vůbec nedosáhneme, takže jsme to brali spíš jako konfrontaci se silnými soupeři. Ale jak jsme sbírali body, otočilo se to z pohodičky na tlak. Je hezké, že o to můžeme hrát, ale samozřejmě naše pozice je teď jiná. Ale zaplať pánbůh za to.
Jak náročný bude poslední zápas v Plzni?
Musíme ze sebe vydat maximum. Tým si dokazuje, že může hrát se silnými soupeři. Ve skupině o titul je každý zápas těžký, navíc venku v Plzni, která má zkušený mančaft. Půjdeme se o to poprat a snad to klapne.
Byl za vámi v kabině po triumfu nad Slavií majitel Miroslav Pelta?
Ano a byl nadšený. Prý to bylo emočně hodně náročné, ale radost měl velkou.
Střelecky jste se dosud trápil, jak moc vám pomohl v minulém kole gól proti Olomouci?
Minulý zápas se mi ulevilo. Zaplať pánbůh, že je to konečně tady. Bylo to velké trápení. Psychika dělá hodně. Když gól dlouho nepřichází, přestože člověk moc chce a nic se k němu neodrazí, brána je najednou menší než ve skutečnosti. Kluci mě ale fantasticky podporovali. Musím zmínit, že Kuba Martinec mi říkal, že vidí, že makám a že gól dám, až to bude nejvíce potřeba. Teď jsme se tomu pousmáli. Jsem rád, že jsem týmu mohl takhle pomoci.

Dostal jste znovu po týdnu od Martince skleněné jablko jako cenu pro nejlepšího hráče zápasu?
Tentokrát ne. Kabina je fakt dobře nastavená, Kuba Martinec pro to má cit. Všichni možná očekávali, že jablko dostanu opět já, ale dostal ho trenér Kozel. A nezlobím se za to. Už jsem měl i myšlenku, že ho dám doprostřed kabiny. Každý ho chce mít, mně se podařilo dostat ho minulý týden, ačkoliv jsem tam byl dvacet minut. Bral jsem to spíš jako podporu od kluků. Teď jsem si ho asi zasloužil víc, ale je to týmový sport, není to o jednom hráči. Jsem rád, že jsem mohl přispět.
Trenér Slavie Jindřich Trpišovský Jablonec po zápase chválil s tím, že v Evropě by se neztratil. Jak se vám taková slova poslouchají?
Tak těžké zápasy teď vyhráváme, takže proč bychom tam nemohli být my? Naše kvalita jde nahoru. Dokazujeme si, že těžké zápasy umíme zvládat, a samozřejmě evropské poháry by pro nás byly další zkušeností. V týmu je potenciál, takže proč se za neposunout zase o krok výš a nezkusit si to.
