Abel Braga se consagrou como técnico multicampeão, vencendo praticamente todas as competições que disputou. Diante dos grandes nomes que dirigiu, o ex-treinador montou uma seleção dos melhores atletas com quem trabalhou em matéria do ge.globo.
A base da equipe escolhida por Abelão é formada principalmente por jogadores do Internacional e do Fluminense.
Entre outros títulos pelo Colorado, foi campeão da Libertadores e do Mundial de Clubes em 2006. Já pelo Tricolor das Laranjeiras, ganhou o Brasileirão Série A de 2012.

O esquema escolhido foi o 4-3-3, montado sem volantes por Abel Braga e com dois campeões brasileiros pelo Fluminense.

O titular da Copa do Mundo de 1986 pela seleção brasileira trabalhou com Abelão no Botafogo nos anos 80, mas também ficou marcado por problemas extracampo além dos golaços no Mundial do México.
“Dava umas fugidas ali… Josimar, do Botafogo. Eu joguei com ele, fui treinador dele, já fui pegar ele em casa para ir para o treino”, relatou.
