Das riecht schon schwer nach Halbfinale.

Die MLP Academics Heidelberg gewinnen gegen den Hauptrunden-Dritten Niners Chemnitz auch ihr zweites Spiel in den Viertelfinal-Play-offs der Easycredit Basketball-Bundesliga. 74:70 heißt es diesmal, nachdem die Heidelberger am Sonntag mit einem 93:90-Auswärtssieg in die Serie gestartet waren.

Deutlich weniger Punkte als in Spiel eins, aber keinesfalls weniger spektakulär. Ganz im Gegenteil.

Dyn-Kommentator Stefan Koch: „Heidelberg legt los, wie es sich alle hier erwünscht und erhofft haben.“ Nach dreieinhalb Minuten (12:5) nimmt Chemnitz-Coach Rodrigo Pastore schon die erste Auszeit. Und ist mächtig angefressen, faltet seine Spieler ordentlich zusammen: „Wo ist die Intensität, über die wir gesprochen haben? Ich will Druck auf den Ball.“

Danach wird’s tatsächlich besser, die Niners machen direkt sechs Punkte in Folge. Mehr noch: Mitte des zweiten Viertels gehen sie erstmals seit Minute eins in Führung (23:26 aus Heimsicht). Die hält jedoch nicht bis zur Pause. Weil Heidelbergs Michael Weathers für DIE Szene der bisherigen Play-offs sorgt.
