Commanders president thinks big future benefits for the team that would impact Taylor Swift

Ever since Kansas City Chiefs TE Travis Kelce and Taylor Swift announced their romance, fans turned their eyes to them and the NFL with increased frequency.

The media buzz they generated not only brought new fans to Travis’ game or Swift’s artistic career, but also to the world of the NFL. And that’s exactly where Washington Commanders would seem to want to enter.

Travis Kelce backs out of auction item signed by Taylor Swift in front of Patrick Mahomes

Although no news has yet come out about a deal for the team to leave Northwest Stadium in Summerfield, Maryland, and move to the new RFK Stadium in Washington, DC, it was the Commanders’ president who brought the artist to the scene.

Given the importance of having a roofed space for a team, Mark Clouse, explained that it could also be a win for the city because of the economic windfall that extra-sports events normally leave behind and that Swift could elevate them and generate jobs.

The Positives and Negatives of 49ers QB Brock Purdy’s Extension

There is a roof on the stadium, and I think that’s going to enable us to bring 30-40 world-class events – I mean, we will be the only roofed facility on this side of the mid-Atlantic. So, whether that’s Taylor Swift or the Final Four, or any WWE wrestling fans out there, ‘WrestleMania’ could come, but we are going to be able to host everything that’s in the city on a national stage.

The other side of the story and fan reaction

Despite the great growth and development opportunities proposed by Clouse, fans turned their sights on a larger point.

Because of Mark’s statements, fans were quick to criticize him but that he prioritized shows and money over their and the team’s well-being.

“Why give a crap about Swift? The roof should be all about the comfort of Commanders fans,” complained one fan. “Lmao Taylor Swift is one of the reason smh how about you want to protect [Jayden] Daniels from cold weather related injuries,” commented another. “Thank God, it’s going to have a Roof over it for Taylor Swift concerts, I was about to FREAK OUT!!!” another fan wryly expressed.

The truth is that the DC Council still has the project under consideration and it has not been confirmed that Commanders will change venues, but if so, would Taylor Swift perform there?

2025 College Football Rankings: Ohio State Stays No. 1 as Penn State, Texas Slide

<!--> [--> RJ Young FOX Sports National College Football Analyst <!--> --> The Buckeyes are flirting with becoming one of the best defenses in the history of the sport. As I wrote earlier this week, they’re making a serious case as the most dominant unit since Alabama’s 2011 squad — a team that allowed just 8.2 points per game en route to a national title. Ohio State? They’ve been even better.Through six games, the Buckeyes are giving up just 5.5 points per game, have yet to allow a red-zone touchdown, and have held every opponent to nine points or fewer. That average dropped even further Saturday night, as Ohio State gave up just nine total points in its last two games combined. What’s more: they’re just as dangerous on offense. The Buckeyes scored 42 points against Minnesota, with quarterback Julian Sayin continuing […]

Misery Index: Penn State’s woes worsen with embarrassing loss to UCLA

Whenever we talk about Penn State, there’s a macro and a micro perspective of the program. It’s not always easy to know which one should command your attention. You can step back and see that James Franklin has finished inside the top-10 five times in his 11 seasons while winning two-thirds of his Big 12 games. That’s quite good without any other context. At the same time, we all know the bad stuff too: 1-10 against Ohio State, 4-21 against top-10 opponents, constantly hitting his head on a ceiling in the most important games.AdvertisementAdvertisementAdvertisementCan’t fire him. Can’t trust him. It’s a real dilemma for Penn State’s administration. They know Franklin runs a good program and generally wins the games he’s supposed to win, that firing him would be absurdly expensive (in the $50 million range) and there’s significant risk of replacing him […]
