Kurz vor dem Champions-League-Finale hat Emmanuel Petit Paris Saint-Germain scharf kritisiert. Der Weltmeister von 1998 sprach in einem Interview mit der spanischen „Marca“ über die frühere Star-Kultur des Klubs und lobte die neue Einheit unter Trainer Luis Enrique (53).
„Ich mochte PSG jahrelang nicht – wegen ihres Umgangs mit Geld“, gestand Petit. „Auf dem Platz war es nur Show, abseits des Felds war die Kommunikation schlecht.“ Der ehemalige Mittelfeldspieler habe sich in letzten Jahren von PSG distanziert.

Der Wendepunkt kam laut Petit im Januar: „Ich denke, es hat bei ihnen Klick gemacht, als sie Ende Januar Manchester City niedergerungen haben. Sie starteten sehr gut ins neue Jahr, das Selbstvertrauen war da.“

Petit betont, dass PSG nun mehr als nur ein Star-Spieler sei: „Das Wichtigste ist, dass PSG nicht nur aus Dembele besteht, sondern als Team auftritt.“
