„Es war einmal…“ gilt auch für die Situation des TVB Stuttgart in der Daikin Handball-Bundesliga. Denn die Stuttgarter haben ihre gute Ausgangsposition im Abstiegskampf inzwischen verspielt. Nur noch zwei Punkte trennen den TVB von Abstiegsrang 17, den ausgerechnet der nächste Gegner und geografische Nachbar SG BBM Bietigheim belegt.

Bei diesem Handball-Krimi geht’s um Millionen
Samstag (18 Uhr, live bei Dyn/Anzeige) treffen die schwäbischen Abstiegs-Konkurrenten direkt aufeinander. In einem Spiel, das die Weichen für die sportliche Zukunft stellen kann. In einer Partie, dessen Ausgang über einen Millionen-Betrag entscheiden kann. Denn der Verlierer kommt der 2. Liga immer näher, in der weniger Sponsorengelder, Zuschauer-Einnahmen und Etat-Zahlen drohen.
Der TVB geht mit schwerem Mental-Gepäck in das Spiel. Die 27:30-Heimniederlage gegen den HC Erlangen hat die Lage im Schwabenland verschärft. Da fehlten im Nachgang auch Geschäftsführer und Interims-Trainer Jürgen Schweikardt offensichtlich die Worte: „Ja, das ist jetzt bitter. Wir müssen uns davon erholen und dann nächste Woche einen neuen Versuch starten.“
[–>Wenn es nur so einfach wäre, wie es klingt. In der Rückrunde hat Schweikardts TVB 4:20-Punkte auf dem Konto und ist nur wegen der Tordifferenz besser als Bietigheim und der 1. VfL Potsdam platziert. Keine Frage: Der Verlierer am Samstag kommt Auswärtsfahrten nach Coburg und Dresden immer näher.
Kuriose Situation in Stuttgart: Während die erste Mannschaft um die Zugehörigkeit zur Bundesliga zittert, kommt die Zweitvertretung nicht mehr aus dem Feiern raus. Der TV Bittenfeld 2 hat den Aufstieg in die 3. Liga geschafft. Vielleicht sollte man bei der zweiten Mannschaft mal nachfragen, wie man erfolgreich Handball spielt.
Die Partie gegen Bietigheim wurde übrigens um eine Stunde von 19 auf 18 Uhr vorverlegt. Grund: Der VfB Stuttgart spielt am Samstag (20 Uhr) in Berlin im DFB-Pokalfinale gegen Arminia Bielefeld.

Manchester United have agreed a deal with Royal Antwerp for goalkeeper Senne Lammens for around £18.2m.The 23-year-old is travelling to Manchester to finalise his move and undergo a medical.
