Barcelonas Sportdirektor Deco beim Radiosender „RAC 1“: „Lamine Yamals Vertragsverlängerung ist auf einem guten Weg. Er ist ein Spieler mit einer Reife, die nicht normal ist.“ Und weiter: „Es geht nicht darum, ob er 17, 26 oder sonst wie alt ist. Fußball muss fair sein, und er sollte einen Vertrag haben, der das widerspiegelt.“

Der spanische Radiosender „Cadena SER“ berichtete, dass Yamal überraschend eine Bedingung stellt: Nämlich, der bestbezahlte Barça-Profi zu werden. Diese Position hat momentan noch Stürmer Robert Lewandowski (36) mit 26 Millionen Euro inne.
Droht ein Gehälter-Zoff bei Barcelona?
Dem trat Deco bei „RAC 1“ entschieden entgegen, sagte klar: „Das stimmt nicht.“ Anderen Berichten zufolge sei realistischer, dass der Teenager drittbestbezahlter Spieler bei Barcelona wird, mit einem Jahresgehalt von rund 9 Millionen Euro. Nur Lewandowski und Frenkie de Jong verdienen mehr.
Was Deco aber verriet: Paris Saint-Germain hat ein Auge auf Yamal geworfen! Bereits im vergangenen Jahr hätte der Klub Interesse bekundet. Der Sportdirektor: „Ja, letztes Jahr haben sie nach ihm gefragt.“

Präsident Joan Laporta behauptete, PSG sei bereit gewesen, 250 Millionen Euro für Lamine zu zahlen. Doch die Champions-League-Finalisten wiesen dies zurück.
