Lions’ rookie Isaac TeSlaa ignites rivalry with blunt Packers take

When the Detroit Lions traded up to grab Arkansas wide receiver Isaac TeSlaa with the 70th overall pick in the 2025 NFL Draft, they weren’t just getting one of the most athletic receivers in the class, they were getting someone who bleeds Honolulu Blue.

A Michigan native and lifelong Lions fan, TeSlaa’s connection to the franchise runs deeper than most rookies. And now, just months into his NFL career, he’s already earned the affection of the fanbase.

Isaac TeSlaa embraces Packers hate

TeSlaa’s rise to local stardom took another leap after a recent appearance on the St. Brown Brothers Podcast.

Kansas City Chiefs Face Grueling 2025 Schedule

The rookie didn’t just show he knows the NFC North landscape, he showed exactly where he stands when it comes to the Lions’ biggest rival.

Asked by Amon-Ra St. Brown to name the other teams in the division, TeSlaa passed with flying colors.

That’s when Equanimeous St. Brown, a former Packers draft pick, chimed in about the Green Bay rivalry.

Without hesitation, TeSlaa delivered a soundbite that will live in Detroit sports radio for months: “Oh, I hate the Packers, with a burning passion.”

Equanimeous followed up by joking, “You know I’m a Packers guy?” to which TeSlaa replied, “I know.”

The exchange, met with laughter, struck a chord with Lions Nation, who immediately embraced the hometown receiver’s raw honesty and team-first mentality.

It’s not just words that have Lions fans excited.

TeSlaa turned heads leading up to the draft, showcasing his athleticism at the Hula Bowl and Senior Bowl before delivering a standout performance at the NFL Combine.

His 9.93 Relative Athletic Score (RAS) was the highest among all wide receivers in 2025, confirming his elite physical potential.

Despite a loaded Lions receiver room featuring stars like Amon-Ra St. Brown, Jameson Williams, and reliable veterans, TeSlaa’s role remains a question mark heading into the season.

Still, with his draft position and passion for the team, it’s clear Detroit hopes to get him involved.

Adding another layer of anticipation? The Lions open their season at Lambeau Field against the Packers.

A breakout performance from TeSlaa in Week 1 would be poetic justice, and a perfect chapter in his already compelling Detroit debut.

‘He’s a Beast’: Hard-Charging Cam Skattebo Sparking The Revived Giants

EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J. — Jaxson Dart has lit a fire underneath the Giants’ franchise. But it’s Cam Skattebo that’s providing the spark. The rookie running back with a nose for contact has been the kind of lightning bolt that the Giants have been missing for a while. He showed his power again on Thursday night when he rushed for 98 yards and three touchdowns in the Giants’ shocking, 34-17 upsets of the Philadelphia Eagles. But it’s not the numbers that have turned the 5-foot-10, 215-pound wrecking ball into an instant crowd favorite. It’s his powerful, hard-nosed, and maybe even reckless style where almost every run he has turns into a potential car wreck — one that he somehow always survives."He’s a beast," Giants edge rusher Kayvon Thibodeaux told me after the game. ‘Dunne is a good fit’ – Red Bull boss drops hint over Irish star

With the dust having settled on McLaren's sudden release of Alex Dunne, Sky Sports F1 assess how the young Irish star becoming a free agent could impact the driver market.Ahead of last weekend's Singapore Grand Prix, a McLaren announcement came from nowhere stating that the team had ended its contract with the 19-year-old, who had been part of their driver development programme for the last two years. Given his impressive F1 debut in Austrian Grand Prix practice in June and a solid showing this year in Formula 2, Dunne seemed an ideal candidate for McLaren to keep hold of in the event they were to lose either Oscar Piastri or Lando Norris at some point in the next few years. Therefore, attention quickly switched to what could have been behind the highly-rated Dunne's release, with it only being a matter of […]
